Michael Martin, DDS
Few things in the world are more expressive than a smile, and I take pride in helping people keep their smiles healthy and beautiful for a lifetime. I come to work every morning with the hope of improving my patients’ dental health and awareness, and the knowledge that this will improve their overall well-being.
In the 30-plus years I’ve been a dentist, I have realized that my work is not just about helping people physically, but also emotionally. I love building long-term relationships with patients. Each person has his or her own experiences and stories to share. I am humbled when a patient chooses to confide in me. I enjoy the bonds we form, which often become friendships. My patients have become my extended family, and I care for them as such.
Education and Continuing Education
I grew up in Adrian where, from a young age, I was interested in teeth: Their different shapes, designs, and how they function intrigued me. After graduating from Adrian Senior High School, I went to Albion College for my BA and the University of Detroit Mercy for my Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
One of the biggest responsibilities of being a dentist is keeping up to date on developments in the field. Attending continuing education keeps me current with the latest ideas and technology. From materials to use, improved techniques, and treatments, we can explain options and choices to custom fit the best treatment for each patient.
Outside the Office
I have lived in Bedford for 30 years. My wife Melissa is a graduate of Bedford High School. Together we share three children. We are also blessed to still have three surviving parents to learn from and care for.
When I’m not busy at work, I love sports and the outdoors. I am an avid gardener, history buff, and travel enthusiast. Of course, my family is the most important thing in my life.
